varshtat means workshop

As a child I have spent countless hours between my dad's and my mum's separate workshops, learning how to hammer nails and organize tools with my dad, and about the nature of fabric with my mum. While she taught me about making things out of nothing, he taught me that there is nothing really that cannot be fixed. Either way, it was always about making things last. And about persistence.

Based in the West Highlands of Scotland, I make things that are very much inspired by surrounding nature and changing seasons. I devote a lot of my time to relief print due to the nature of the process, which makes me slow down and focus on one thing for more than a fleeting moment. My tragic Slavic folklore loving soul, forever torn between the forest and the sea, has found a perfect home on Scotland's shores.
